It's designed to break before your main gear rip out of the fuse, so that's a positive. The negative is that the struts on the F-22 aren't trailing link and they don't handle any shearing forces well, nor do they compress reliably so I have to buy stock in these pins. Freewing trailing link struts rock. I've never needed one of these pins on any other jet but the F-22. The struts on the F-22 are not great and don't handle rough surfaces well..the only time they work well is if you drop it in on a carrier landing on a perfectly flat surface. Land or take off flat and soft on a bumpy surface and you'll need a lot of these for the roll outs or takeoff runs.
